Last week Office 365 decided to release something called Office 365 Channels over IFTTT, which is designed to coordinate information flow in an automated manner.

IFTTT?

First of all, if you don’t know what IFTTT is, then read this quick explanation:

So if you love certain apps and products, IFTTT (If This Then That) lets you have a control over them. It is a web-based service that allows creation of simple conditional statements, named ‘recipes’. It triggers Gmail, Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram based on changes to other web services.

Essentially, this service can automate and connect all you web-service ingredients.

As more and more people are adopting the time saver that IFTTT is, Microsoft decided it would be a prudent decision to make themselves fully available on the IFTTT platform. Now, when you activate the 0365 channels, data productivity is massively increased is the right recipes are made in IFTTT. Some of these recipes could be an auto-save function on OneDrive when a specific hashtag is detected off of Instagram, or an automatic Office 365 contact share on a Trello board/ Slack team.

These are just a few ways to get leverage time-saving activities through IFTTT, if you’re interested in delving in deeper, take a look as some of the recipes Microsoft listed here.
